The desk
Write, or come by.
Tell us the class you want, the days you can come, and anything the teacher should know about your body. We reply within one working day.
Your note is with the desk.
We reply within one working day, usually by phone if you have left a number. If you wrote about a first class, we will confirm the half-price visit and a time for the short consultation.
Before you ask
Questions the desk hears often.
What should I wear to a first class?
Comfortable cloth you can move in: leggings or a soft trouser, and a top that stays in place when you fold. Bare feet. Leave chains and bangles that knock against the floor. If you are coming from the office, the changing rooms are there so you need not practise in a shirt you care about.
Do I need my own mat?
No. A fresh mat is set out for you at no charge. Many regular students still prefer their own, and a small shelf at the desk sells a cotton mat if you decide to keep one. Props — blocks, belts, bolsters, blankets — are already in the hall.
How early should I arrive?
Fifteen to twenty minutes the first time, so we can take your name, ask about injuries, and let you see the room before anyone is asked to sit. After that, five to ten minutes is enough. The door closes when the breath begins.
May I eat before class?
A light meal two to three hours before, or a small snack an hour before, is comfortable. A full stomach makes twists and folds unpleasant. Drink water through the day, and only a little in the half hour before you practise.
What if I have an injury?
Tell the teacher before the class, not during the first posture. They are trained to offer another shape. Many students come here precisely because something hurts and a crowded class made it worse. If the injury is recent or medical, a private hour is often the wiser beginning.
Is there an introduction for new students?
Yes. Your first class is half the usual drop-in fee, and the visit includes a short wellness consultation at the desk so we can place you in the right room. Mention that you are new when you write, and we will hold it for you.
What is the cancellation policy?
Classes need twenty-four hours’ notice to be moved or refunded. Later than that, the fee stands. Private hours need forty-eight hours. Members may cancel up to two hours before a class without losing the place.
Do you train teachers?
Yes. Dr. Arjun Sharma leads Yoga Alliance registered 200-hour and 500-hour trainings through the year. The work includes philosophy and practicum, not only how to sequence a flow. Write with the subject “Teacher training” and we will send the next dates.
Is there parking?
Complimentary parking sits in the lot beside the bungalow, lit in the evening. If it is full, there is street parking along Lotus Garden Road. Tell the desk if you are being dropped off and we will watch for you.
Can a membership be paused?
Monthly and annual members may pause for up to thirty days in a year, for travel, illness, or a similar reason. Ask the desk at least seven days before the pause should begin, so the billing can be set aside cleanly.
