The practice hall prepared for a morning class

Classes & fees

The practice, plainly.

Six public classes and a private hour. Rooms stay small. A new student is placed after a short conversation, not dropped into the hardest sequence on the board.

How to choose

Start where the body actually is.

If you are new, begin with Hatha or Restorative. If you already practise and want heat, come to Vinyasa. Ashtanga is reserved for students who know the sequence or are ready to learn it under Rohan or Dr. Sharma. Tell the desk about pregnancy, injury, or a long break. We would rather move you to the right room than watch you struggle in the wrong one.

A standing Hatha posture taught in morning light

With Priya Nair

Hatha Yoga

Hatha is the classical meeting of posture and breath. Each shape is taught on its own: the feet, the hands, the length of the inhale, the moment you are allowed to come out. There is no choreography to memorise.

In this room the first five minutes are seated. Priya then builds a standing sequence, a few floor postures, and a long savasana. If your hamstrings or shoulders need a simpler version, you are given one before the class moves on.

It suits a first practice, a return after years away, and anyone who wants to understand a posture rather than pass through it. You leave knowing the names of what you did, and one thing to repeat at home.

Vinyasa lunge in the sunlit hall

With Arjun on the schedule

Vinyasa Flow

Breath and movement stay paired. You will sweat. You will also be asked to stop when the breath breaks, because the flow is the practice, not the pace.

A typical hour opens with sun salutations, moves through standing balances and a short backbend, then closes on the floor. Sequences change with the week. The room never exceeds ten mats, so the teacher can still see the front knee.

Come if you already know downward dog and chaturanga, or if Hatha has started to feel familiar and you want heat. The first session includes a slower opening so you are not guessing the transitions.

A concentrated Ashtanga posture on the teak floor

With Rohan Kapoor & Dr. Sharma

Ashtanga Yoga

The same sequence, practised in order, with a counted breath. Primary series is the heart of this room. There is little talking once the practice begins, and a great deal of attention.

You arrive, you set your mat in the same place if you can, and you begin with sun salutations. The teacher moves through the room for adjustments that have been agreed at the start. New students to the series are led through a shortened form until the full order is steady.

This class is for experienced practitioners. If you are unsure, write to the desk and we will tell you honestly whether to begin here or in Vinyasa.

Seated Kundalini practice beside a singing bowl

With Dev Malhotra

Kundalini Yoga

A kriya is a set: posture, breath, and sound, repeated until the mind stops negotiating. Dev keeps the shapes simple and the rhythm steady. You do not need to be flexible. You need to be willing to stay.

The hour may include a short warm-up, a kriya with mantra, a silent meditation, and a closing song. The lights stay low. Mats are placed with enough room that the person beside you is a presence, not a distraction.

All levels are welcome. Wear clothes you can sit in. If chanting in a group is new, you are welcome to listen for the first class and join when the sound feels possible.

An expectant mother in a gentle supported stretch

With Meera Iyer

Prenatal Yoga

A class built for pregnancy, not a general class with a few changes. Meera works with breath that will be useful in labour, with the hips and the back, and with rest that is treated as part of the practice.

You are supported with bolsters. Nothing is practised on the belly. Inversions and deep closed twists are left out. The room holds eight, so there is time to ask about the week, the sleep, and what the midwife has said.

Please bring a note from your physician if this is your first prenatal class with us. All trimesters are welcome once you have that clearance. Partners are not in the room. This hour is yours.

Restorative yoga held over bolsters and blankets

With Ananya Rao

Restorative Yoga

Five or six shapes, each held for several minutes, each fully supported. The work is to do less, precisely. Blankets hold the knees. A bolster holds the chest. The jaw is allowed to unclench.

Ananya speaks very little once you are settled. The room is warm. You may cover the eyes. This is the class we suggest after illness, after a heavy month, or when a stronger practice has started to feel like another task.

All levels. You do not need to be flexible, and you will not be asked to perform. Come in clothes you can sleep in. Leave when the tea is poured.

Before you arrive

The first fifteen minutes.

What to wear

Clothes you can sit, fold, and sweat in. Fitted enough that the teacher can see the joints, loose enough that you forget them. We practise barefoot. Leave jewellery that swings.

What we set out

A fresh mat if you want one, blocks, belts, bolsters, and blankets. Lockers, rainfall showers, and a simple organic wash. Tulsi, fennel, or ginger tea after class.

How you are met

The desk asks your name, any injury, and whether you prefer hands-on guidance. You are shown the hall, the water, and where to leave your shoes. Class begins only when the door is shut.

A place on the floor

Tell us the class, and the week you have in mind.
